5 security methods to secure your blog

  1. Use strong passwords and change password regularly- If you using a website such as wordpress to create your blogs, you would be required to log in using your password and email. By using passwords that are unique, contain a combination of uppercase, lowercase letters, numbers and symbols and frequently changing it, it would make it difficult for a hacker to gain access and modify blog content.
  2. Backup your data-Hackers and malicous attackers may gain access to your information. They may sell your information to third party software or they may just steal it for personal gain. To prevent the loss of this information, use a automated regular backup service , which would backup all your data to a completely different physical server.
  3. Make sure your software is updated- If you using a website to create blog content such as wordpress, make sure you use the latest version. Pluggins should also be updated. Using the latest version site reduces the risks of having any security holes.
  4. Implement a firewall- WAF( Web application firewall) continuously monitors code and incoming traffic of your website, looking for malicious threats. Once it identifies malicious threats, it immediately eliminates them.
  5. Switch to https- Https creates an encrypted link between the browser of the person using the website and the actual website. This prevents hackers from intercepting any data passing between these two. To set this up a SSL certificate would be required.
